G. MICHAEL FLORES,CEO

Mr.Flores is President and CEO of Bretton Woods, Inc, a specialty management consulting firm serving financial institutions. Mr. Flores also founded DBW Technologies, LLC, a technology company that developed a client server/browser based solution for Check 21 remote deposit captureand ACH check conversion for remote lockbox services for commercial customers of banks.  DBW was sold in 2006 to eImageSolutions, Inc. in Lexington, KY.  He is a strategic partner with Capital Performance Group in Washington, DC. 

Professional Experience

He has over 30 years of financial institution experience through his employment in banking as well as consulting.  Mr. Flores’ consulting work focuses on the areas of strategic planning, strategic technology planning, payment systems and process improvement and reengineering through enabling technologies.   

Mr. Flores began his banking career with Citizens & Southern National Bank (now Bank of America) in Atlanta, Georgia where he held various management positions. From 1981 to 1988 he was Senior Vice President for Bank Earnings International and responsible for the national strategic planning practice and for business development and practice management in the northeastern United States.   

In 1988, he founded Bretton Woods, Inc. and in 1993, he moved his consulting practice to EDS, Plano, Texas and served as a Principal of its Management Consulting Services in Europe and Southeast Asia for a two year period.In 1991, Mr. Flores co-founded Resolution Resources Corporation in Atlanta, Georgia,an alternative dispute resolution firm and sold the company in 1997. In 1996, Mr. Flores re-activated Bretton Woods, Inc. to focus on the enabling features of technology in banking to improve revenue and increase efficiency. 

He has testified in Congress and spoken to industry groups and has authored several studies and articles for industry publications. He has been a faculty member with Pacific Coast Banking School in Seattle, Washington where he teaches Technology’s Role in Community Banking curriculum for bankers in the graduate school. 

Education

Mr. Flores received a BBA in Accounting and Management from the University of Notre Dame,and also attended the Commercial Lending School at Georgia State University.  He is a Certified Mediator with the Center for Dispute Resolution, Boulder, Colorado and also with the American Arbitration Association in Atlanta, Georgia.

John brings a unique perspective to consulting engagements. A former bank CEO with insightful real world experience, he is also a faculty member at several major domestic graduate banking schools where he is continually exposed to the credit processes of banks of all sizes. Barrickman is also in a unique position to address regulatory concerns when an institution outgrows its credit process. This perspective enables customized solutions to credit process issues regardless of the size, location, risk tolerance and competencies of the organization.

In addition to the company’s consultancy practice, Barrickman is an engaging professional presenter with unique insights on industry and market trends based upon his breadth of expertise and understanding of banking as a business in an ever changing environment. The company’s in house training programs are designed to reinforce the client’s lending philosophy, credit culture, credit process and underwriting guidelines

Barrickman has taught for various commercial lending schools associated with State Banking Associations, the Federal Reserve System, RMA, and the American Bankers Association. Barrickman has also taught for banking institutes in Kuwait, Poland, Slovakia, Lithuania and the Czech Republic, and has authored curricula on commercial lending used by 14 state commercial lending schools and curricula used to train banks in Central and Eastern Europe and the former Soviet Union. An award winning regular contributor to the RMA Journal, he has also co-authored a book entitled Strategic Credit Risk Management for RMA.

A Kentucky native, he holds an undergraduate degree in Economics and an MBA in Finance from the University of Kentucky.

JOHN S. POELKER

CEO, CFO, CAPITAL MARKETS, FINANCIAL ANALYSIS AND RISK MANAGEMENT EXPERTISE 

John S. Poelker began his career in 1965 with Peat, Marwick, Mitchell & Co. (KPMG) in St. Louis following his graduation from the University of Notre Dame and service in the Peace Corps. He served as Chief Financial Officer of Mercantile Bancorporation in St. Louisfrom 1972 until 1978 when he joined Atlanta’s Citizens & Southern Corporation as Chief Financial Officer. He served in that position until 1986 when he moved to San Francisco to become Chief Financial Officer of Bank of America. 

He left B of A in late 1986 andreturned to Atlanta to form his own consulting firm, Poelker & Associates. His firm merged with Edgar, Dunn & Co., a San Francisco based consulting firm, in 1990 and he served as the Managing Partner of the Atlanta office of that firm until 1993. In 1993, he was named Chairman & CEO of Fleet Finance in Atlanta. After the sale of that consumer finance subsidiary of Fleet Financial Group in 1996 he moved to Evansville, Indiana where he served as CFO of American General Finance. In 1998, he joined Old National Bancorporation (NYSE: ONB) in Evansville as Chief Financial Officer and served in that position until his retirement in March of 2005.

Areas of operations most likely to match up with John’s experience would be those related to financial management and risk control, strategic planning, mergers and acquisitions analysis, and profitability analysis and improvement.

CALVIN D. JOHNSON

ALTERNATIVE DELIVERY SYSTEMS, ELECTRONIC BANKING, RETAIL BANKING, PRODUCT DEVELOPMENT, AND MARKETING EXPERTISE

Calvin Johnson has over twenty years of diversified financial service experience in commercial banks, thrift institutions, and technology companies in functions such as retail marketing, strategic planning, product development, financial analysis, market research, systems design, and project management. He is known as a creative, results-oriented executive in both line and staff assignments, possessing superior analytical skills, a high energy level, tenacious perseverance, and a commitment to quality performance, effective team-building,and open communications. Mr. Johnson's recent activities include:
 
-  Designed an integrated Telephone Banking Operation for a large community bank including Call Center, Voice Response, Customer Contact Management, and Computer-Telephony Integration Systems

-  Designed and installed an Intranet-based Consumer Loan Decisioning and Fulfillment System for Call Center and Branch Platform Operations of a multi-billion dollar thrift institution Designed Browser-based Desk Top Decision Support System for Dealer Finance Division of a major money center financial institution for installation

-  Developed and implemented core consumer banking products and customer service operations for world’s first totally Virtual Bank delivering retail banking services over the Internet Managed an Electronic Banking business unit for large regional bank with responsibilities for identifying and developing market opportunities for new sources of fee-based revenues in areas such as ATM Deployment, Supermarket Banking, and Merchant Services   

Johnson holds a BS degree with Highest Honor in Management Science from Georgia Tech where he graduated number one in the College of Industrial Management and was nominated for a Rhodes Scholarship. He received his MBA degree in Finance and Marketing from the University of Chicago’s Graduate School of Business where he was a Leon Carroll Marshall Scholar.

Mary Beth Sullivan, Managing Partner
Mary Beth leads the firm’s Business Performance Improvement and Marketing practice areas. Prior to joining CPG, Mary Beth was Senior Managing Director at Furash & Company and Vice President of Marketing and Assistant Controller with Chemical Banking Corporation in New York. Mary Beth has over 18 years of experience in the financial services industry.

Prior to joining CPG, Gary was a Principal with Furash & Company, where he managed the firm's Retail Distribution practice area. Prior to that, Gary was an Assistant Vice President at Signet Bank in Richmond, Virginia and a management consultant with both Coopers & Lybrand LLC and Andersen Consulting.
